The Cloud System Administrator has deep, technical, hands-on experience helping clients harness cloud computing to transform their businesses. The ideal candidate has a strong product and market background, strategic thinking and business savvy. This role also includes understanding and disseminating practical knowledge on new technologies, products, and capabilities to the practice and GTRI as a whole.
This person is a team player, working to collaborate in managing a large AWS-based Windows infrastructure – including understanding set-up and automation of AWS. The person who will succeed in this role is a meticulous, self-starting, customer-friendly personality who can work well in a team atmosphere, and also has the ability to take projects and run with them successfully.
Manage set-up and automation of AWS Cloud solutions from end to end (focused on Windows infrastructure)
Automation patching and managing tickets for our customers that can vary widely in nature
Work with Senior Architect, DevOps, and Professional Services team to design cloud architectures for complex, large-scale applications.
Ensure cloud and application architectures are appropriate for cloud hosting and be the trusted advisor of the DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams
Provide recommendations and proposals to client on solutions to improve service levels and operational efficiencies
Other duties as assigned
Windows administration & automation (e.g. patching)
Proficient with AWS console
Excellent oral and writing skills
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent experience (EC2, IAM, S3...)
Proficient with Ansible scripting
Proficient with using GitHub for code/script repositories
Physical/Mental Demands & Environment:
Must be able to meet up to 15% local travel requirements.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Must be able to spend a majority of the day sitting at a desk working with a computer.
Education (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Ability to pass a NACI background
Favorable Adjudication for a Medium Background Investigation completed by OPM.
