Permanent position: Electrical Commissioning Engineer opportunity for someone with electrical acceptance testing and commissioning experience associated with data center, commercial and industrial environments. This position can be home based from the cities of Denver CO, Los Angeles CA or Portland OR and support projects in the Western US. Position does pay overtime and excellent benefits are provided. Approximately 50% travel will be required.
Responsibilities for the Commissioning Engineer
Manage and lead electrical commissioning projects
Design and perform field commissioning procedures for electrical systems for data center, commercial and industrial environments.
Perform acceptance testing of electrical equipment such as Oil transformer testing, MV and LV Breaker testing, Protective Relay testing, Cable Testing, UPS Testing etc.
Perform all aspects of commissioning of electrical distribution systems such as design reviews, submittal reviews, integrated systems tests, manage projects etc.
Travel as needed with some being longer term project assignments
Other duties as typical and required
Requirements for the Commissioning Engineer
Graduate BSEE/BSEET Engineer and approximately 5 or more years commissioning project experience (will consider non-degreed candidates with 8 - 10 or more years experience)
Demonstrated commissioning project experience to include Design, Construction, and Post-Occupancy phase processes
Knowledge and understanding of building electrical systems, including normal and emergency power distribution systems, critical power systems, generators, UPS's and batteries, monitoring and alarm systems, automatic transfer switches, metering, motor control centers, and interlocks.
Experience with complex data center surveys/audits, some knowledge of mechanical and controls systems is helpful
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical or project related subjects accurately
