Job Summary

AECOM's Denver Metro Mining team is seeking a Construction Cost Estimator / Scheduler who is experienced in estimating, scheduling, and some project management of Tailings Dams. The qualified candidate will be experienced in estimating elements of the project cost for each project phase, scheduling of design and construction tasks, and managing projects to ensure the goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within the prescribed time, cost, and quality parameters.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides estimates for each project phase including conceptual, preliminary design, design development, and construction phases

  • Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates

  • Schedules activities of design and construction phases

  • Identifies and tracks changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are reported to the client and program manager

  • Develops and implements a Project Execution Plan for effective management of project tasks and team members

  • Follows project management, safety, and quality standards for all projects

  • Conducts meetings with team members to confirm progress, review issues and actions, and resolve questions

  • Develops communication with clients including reporting on project management, schedule, costs, and progress

  • Mentor junior staff on projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in estimating, scheduling, and multi-discipline project management

  • Primavera P6 proficiency

  • Ability to interpret design drawings for use in estimating

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT or PE

  • 15+ years' experience preferred
