DaVita Supervisor, Benefits (LOA) in Denver, Colorado
The LOA supervisor supervises assigned team responsible for administering associate LOA and ADA. Ensures fair, consistent, and equitable administration of LOA and ADA by working in partnership with the Sr. People Services Health and Welfare Manager to identify and deliver the right training at the right time in the right manner. Select, develop, and motivate all assigned staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervises assigned staff; hires, trains, and develops associates through performance planning, coaching appraisal, and disciplinary efforts. Communicates company and departmental policies to teammates. Communicates and administers/enforces company safety practices and procedures.
Coordinates resolution of complex escalated disability, leave of absence, return to work and accommodation cases
Reviews, updates and ensures consistent documentation of standard practices
Designs, develops, and maintains trainings for team members, including on-boarding new hires and ongoing training for incumbents
Understands nuances of LOA and ADA programs; analyzes and balances risk in creating clear guidelines to team on optimized processes
Clarifies and resolves nuance issues and answers LOA and ADA questions for teammates. Serves as an authoritative voice and decision-maker when answers are not clear cut and policy intent and impact must be carefully considered.
Establishes mechanisms to continuously assess and refine effectiveness in delivering LOA and ADA processes
Develops and maintains successful and productive partnerships with vendors, consultants and brokers in providing effective LOA and ADA administration and cost effective utilization review analysis
Assists Sr. Manager with analyses and recommendations related to special projects and strategies to improve effectiveness of the team
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
2-3 years supervisory experience required
Understanding of LOA and ADA processes and programs required
Proficiency in delivering training, and proven success in improving efficiency and productivity within a team
Must be comfortable dealing with all levels of teammates in the company
