Denver Health Therapist Physical in Denver, Colorado

Job Summary Under minimal supervision, plans, organizes and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Coordinates care of patients in collaboration with healthcare professionals, family and caregiver. Utilizes experience and education to provide support for program development, performance improvement, and student /workforce education. Assists in the safe, efficient and high-quality operation of Rehabilitation Services.

This position reports to the Outpatient Therapy Clinic

Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or higher.

Experience: One year experience. Previous experience in acute care environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of theory, principles and practice of physical therapy. Knowledge of safety principles in patient care environment. Knowledge of standards, polices and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to physical therapy. Ability to integrate requirements of the facility and/or regulatory agencies into clinical decisions and documentation. Demonstrates competency for physical therapy treatment methods, techniques and approaches per professional, start and agency standards. . Ability to meet physical requirements of job classification (lift, pull/push, carry, transfer patients, etc…) Ability to abide by the ethical guidelines as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Certificate/License/Registration: Current Physical Therapist License in the State of Colorado. AHA Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
