Vendor and Data Support Specialist

This position will be responsible for creating and maintain master vendor data in the Oracle financial system, following established internal controls, processes and segregation of duties. In addition, this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Operations department for data review, support and maintenance activities.
Responsible for the timely and accurate creation of new vendors utilizing established procedures with inputs from various points of contact and departments across NREL. Also responsible for all changes related to existing vendor records. Data support activities include responding to requests for credit applications, completing forms for sponsorship, and complying with electronic and paper data/records management and document retention requirements from the Department of Energy. In addition, this position will act as a backup for multiple data -related duties necessary to maintain appropriate segregation of duties with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality related to vendor data and banking information. In addition, this position will also provide support for special projects as assigned by the Compliance and Operational Risk Manager.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Full knowledge of specialized focused business support functions. Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the business support activities, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Fully competent in applicable software packages and office equipment. Demonstrated project administration skills. Full knowledge of specific principles, procedures and practices related to supported fields and disciplines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, team and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience with Oracle Financial Applications or other integrated ERP business systems.
