Our Opportunity:

The Treasury Capital Markets (TCM) function within Corporate Treasury manages fixed-income investments in several portfolios totaling over $175 billion in assets primarily for the benefit of Charles Schwab Corporation, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., and Charles Schwab Bank.

What you’ll do:

As a member of the Treasury Capital Markets function you will support the TCM Portfolio Analytics & Strategy team and play a key role in the overall strategic optimization of the investment portfolio from an integrated portfolio and balance sheet management perspective through collaboration and partnership with critical business partners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (e.g. liquidity, capital, credit, interest rate risk, stress testing, controllers, etc)

In this role, you will support the Portfolio Analytics & Strategy team to determine relative value decisions that will directly impact the composition of the investment portfolio(s) from a sector and sub-sector perspective, while operating within limits, guidelines, constraints, and risk appetite.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting Portfolio Analytics & Strategy team members to achieve risk-return optimization mandate

Combine external market conditions with internal factors to optimally position the interest rate risk position of the investment portfolio

Collaborating with key business partners to drive portfolio analytics to support allocation decisions Risk-Return Optimization taking into account internal and external factors

Support ALM Positioning Strategy by leveraging existing capabilities, tools, and reports

Construct investment portfolio strategy presentations and executive meeting materials

Leverage front office technology and tools to support portfolio analytics

Leverage industry investment research and staying abreast with peer and industry trends

What you have:

A minimum of 7+ years relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field is required, Master’s and/or CFA perferred

Enthusiasm to work in white space and the ability to create innovative analyses to help drive the strategy for the portfolio

Strong knowledge of fixed income capital markets

Strong knowledge of fixed income modeling in systems such as PolyPaths, BlackRock, Murex, Bloomberg, QRM, Calypso

Experience with optimization software such as Crystal Ball, MATLAB, IPOPT etc

Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

Excellent written communication skills

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
